1) Imagine you are taking a plane alone to go somewhere. You are seated next to a stranger. They drum up a conversation. What is your "go to "topic? Something you talk about with ease and never ending enthusiasm? A topic you never need preparation for? One that flows out of you without strain and with such ease? Write it down.

2) Think back of 3 moments in your life where you've felt the most happy, the most joy and the most purposeful? What were you doing? Where were you? Who were you with? Why did these moments make you feel this way? Write them down.

3) Look around you. What books do you read? What Netflix series do you binge on? What videos do you scroll through? Is there a common topic theme?

4) Send an email to 5 people you know really well and 5 that know you on the surface. Ask them only one question: What do you think I am really good at? That you keep coming to me for? Again, are the answers coming back to you similar in nature? Is there a common theme?

All of the above will help you determine potential niches you might find you have a passion for. Narrow these to one or 2 possibilities for further exploration.

  • Online courses: Create and sell courses that teach specific skills or knowledge related to your passion, using platforms like Teachable, Udemy or on your own website.

  • Ebooks: Write and publish ebooks on topics related to your passion, and sell them on platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or Gumroad.

  • Membership sites: Offer exclusive content, resources, and community access through a subscription-based membership site built around your passion.

  • Webinars: Host live or pre-recorded webinars on topics related to your passion, and charge for access or use them as lead magnets for your other digital products.

  • Stock photography or illustrations: If you're passionate about photography or illustration, sell your creations on stock photo websites like Shutterstock or Adobe Stock.

  • Digital templates: Create and sell templates for web design, graphics, presentations, or other media related to your passion, using platforms like Creative Market or Envato Elements. You can also upload them to a marketplace like Etsy or simply sell them off of your own website.

A small audience of engaged and loyal fans is sometimes way more profitable than a million followers that aren't engaged and that merely look for trending videos and entertainment value in your content. If you spend the time cultivating the right audience for your product, it will be end up being most profitable for your business.

Here's the awesome news about building a digital product. Most are absolutely free to create and others have a minimal cost to create. Overall, it IS the most cost-effective product to sell because you only build it once and can sell it over and over again.

3) Can I sell my digital product on multiple platforms?

Absolutely! Most digital products have huge distribution channel listings that you can upload your product to. Therefore, giving you many opportunities to sell your products online to millions of people from all over the world.

4) How long does it take to create a digital product?

It depends on the digital product you choose. For ex: If you choose to create an Ebook as your digital product, you can easily accomplish this within a few hours. On the other hand, if you choose to create an online course, it may take you a few weeks to develop this type of digital product. It all depends on the product itself and the time you have available to commit to this task.

5) Do I need technical skills to create a digital product?

Yes. You will definitely need to learn new skills if you want to build a digital product around your passions. None of them are hard to learn, again, it simply depends on the time and dedication you have towards accomplishing that goal for yourself. You will need to learn design skills but with the right tools like Canva, you'll be designing your own templates and Ebooks in no time. It will help to learn copywriting but with a tool like, it does it all for you, so, again, with the right tools, you can accomplish pretty much anything.

And, with the arrival of AI, you can literally accomplish any task you will ever need to. For ex: say you need to create a video for one of your online courses that you want to monetize but you hate being on camera. Using a platform like Pictory, you can let the AI create a video of your course for you with only a simple script upload. You could easily create your courses within a few days if all you did was write out the scripts. And if you don't know what to use to create the scripts, AI platforms out there will create a video script for you based on a title or topic. So really, the sky is the limit. If you want to do something now a days, there are no excuses for not getting it done.

There are numerous business models, and they can be tailored to suit specific industries or situations. Depending on the digital product you decide to create, you might consider adapting them to the following most common business models:
